A Visual Guide to Kody and Meri Brown’s Family from Sister Wives
Kody Brown began his journey of marriage with Meri Brown, whom he tied the knot with in 1990.
The stars of Sister Wives welcomed new members to their family in 1993 and 1994 when Kody entered into spiritual unions with Janelle Brown and Christine Brown, respectively.
In July 1995, Meri and Kody celebrated the arrival of their child, Leon. After attempting to conceive a second child, the bed and breakfast proprietor experienced a miscarriage. “After years of ups and downs, we had finally decided to take a step back. … I felt so frustrated and angry,” Meri reflected in a 2012 episode about the painful experience.
For two decades, Meri and Kody maintained their legal marriage until they divorced in 2014, allowing Kody to marry his fourth wife, Robyn Brown, and adopt her three children from a previous relationship.
Meri and Kody’s spiritual marriage endured for over ten years before their challenges became evident. The former couple revealed in January 2023 that they had chosen to “permanently terminate” their relationship. (Christine and Janelle had previously announced their separations in 2021 and 2022, respectively.)
