Big Brother alum Tyler Crispen has a knack for surprises, such as announcing his engagement and the arrival of his first child!

“The best secret ever,” Crispen, 29, shared on Instagram on Tuesday, January 14, alongside images of his newborn daughter, Carter Rae Crispen, born on Sunday, January 12. “Your mama and I love you more than anything in this world.”

Crispen, who was the runner-up in season 20 of the CBS reality series, described his daughter as “the most beautiful thing I’ve ever seen.” Although he kept the mother’s identity under wraps, he further surprised his followers by calling his partner his “fiancée” while expressing gratitude to his friends and family for their unwavering support. He also posted a cute polaroid of the couple, labeling it, “Mom & Dad!”

“My fiancée (oh yeah, double surprise) and I want to thank all our close friends & family for helping us keep this little secret and showering us and her with so much love,” he continued. “I am the luckiest guy on the planet.”

Several former Big Brother contestants have welcomed children post-show. Jessica Graf and Cody Nickson, who had a romance during season 19, announced in September 2018 that they were expecting their first child together. He added, “PS. Have you ever seen a more epic reveal?”

The reality star also shared photos of Carter on his Instagram Stories, referring to her as “My Everything,” and updated his bio to include “Girl Dad.”

Fellow Big Brother alums quickly congratulated him in the comments. Season 21 runner-up Holly Allen commented, “This is the way to launch 👏 That smile on the last pic is too cute. Congrats!!!” while Dana Briones said, “Tyler! Congratulations. Girls are the best! So happy for you three!! 🩷🩷🩷.”

Earlier this month, Crispen briefly discussed his new relationship on the “The Exclusive With Sharon Tharp” podcast, explaining his decision to keep his romance private.

“It was something we discussed early on. Keeping it private primarily strengthens our bond because it can be tough for someone in the public eye to be with someone not in it,” he clarified. “I remember how overwhelming it was to transition into that public scrutiny. The shift from receiving feedback from friends and family to facing constant opinions from the public is challenging.”

Crispen was previously engaged to his Big Brother co-star Angela Rummans, with whom he sparked a romance in 2018, even purchasing a home together in South Carolina. He proposed during a beach getaway in January 2021.

“You make every day feel like a dream come true, and I’m now officially the luckiest person alive,” he expressed on Instagram back then. “I’ll love you to infinity and beyond.”

However, the couple parted ways after four years in December 2022. Crispen later addressed their breakup, telling Us Weekly exclusively that they would always remain “friends.”

“I don’t believe in burning bridges because she was a significant part of my life, and I want to keep fond memories without negativity. She’ll always hold a special place in my heart, and I think she knows that. Maintaining friendship with exes can be healthy, everyone. It is doable.”
