Diddy’s Twins Honor Their Late Mother, Kim Porter, with Heartfelt Tribute
Sean “Diddy” Combs’ twin daughters, Jessie and D’Lila Combs, paid tribute to their late mother, Kim Porter, on Mother’s Day.
In a heartfelt post shared on Instagram on Sunday, May 11, the sisters, aged 18, expressed the challenges they’ve faced since losing their mother, who passed away at 47 in 2018.
“These past years have been incredibly tough without you,” the siblings wrote on their joint social media account. “We truly wish you were here to witness our growth and transformation into young women.”
Diddy, who has a New York City trial starting with opening arguments on Monday, May 12, following his September 2024 arrest on sex trafficking charges, shares three children with Porter: Jessie, D’Lila, and Christian, 27. He also adopted Porter’s son Quincy, 33, from her relationship with Al B. Sure. (Diddy has pleaded not guilty and denies all allegations against him, with jury selection for his trial starting on May 5.)
In their Sunday post, Jessie and D’Lila shared a nostalgic photo of their mother, showcasing her pregnant and smiling next to a beautifully decorated Christmas tree. They expressed their deep longing for her presence, stating, “Dear Mommy, you were the best anyone could hope for, and we’re so grateful that God chose you to be our mother. We miss you every single day and wish you could be with us now.”
Their message continued, “We will carry on your legacy and make you proud. We hope you are celebrating this beautiful day with your mother and grandmother, who we miss dearly! Happy Mother’s Day to our Queen. 🕊️❤️.”
Porter’s passing was confirmed in January 2019; the Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office reported that she died from lobar pneumonia. She initially split from Diddy in 1999 amid child support disputes for their son Christian, but they reconciled in 2003 and welcomed Jessie and D’Lila in 2006, before ultimately separating in 2007.
Diddy’s trial started with jury selection recently, and he appeared in court dressed in a sweater over a white collared shirt paired with gray pants. (Judge Arun Subramanian previously ruled that Diddy could wear casual attire instead of a jail jumpsuit during the trial.)
Before jury selection, Diddy declined a plea deal that could have shortened his potential sentence if he admitted guilt. When asked by the judge on May 1 if he rejected the prosecution’s offer, Diddy responded, “Yes, I do.”
Diddy faces additional charges of racketeering conspiracy and transportation for the purpose of engaging in prostitution, which he has denied. His arrest followed numerous allegations of sexual assault from multiple accusers.
In November 2023, Diddy’s ex-girlfriend Cassie filed a lawsuit accusing him of sexual and physical abuse during their on-and-off relationship from 2007 to 2018. Diddy denied the allegations, leading to an out-of-court settlement the next day.
In May 2024, CNN released a 2016 surveillance video showing Diddy in a hotel kicking and grabbing Cassie, 38. He later apologized via Instagram, stating, “My behavior in that video is inexcusable. I take full responsibility for my actions. I was disgusted then, and I’m disgusted now. … I’m not seeking forgiveness. I’m genuinely sorry.”
