Erika Kirk’s Prayer for Pregnancy Amid Charlie Kirk’s Tragic Death
Erika Kirk, the wife of Charlie Kirk, had dreams of expanding their family when tragedy struck and he was fatally shot earlier this year.
“We had planned for four [children],” Erika revealed in a recent interview with Megyn Kelly. “I was praying to God that I was pregnant at the time of his murder. … We were both truly excited about welcoming more kids.”
Erika expressed that having another child “would be the ultimate blessing from this tragedy,” adding, “Now when I see young couples, I urge them, ‘Please, don’t wait.’ Especially if you’re a young woman, don’t delay. You can always pursue a career, but you can’t just go back to having children.”
As Erika wiped her tears, Kelly comforted her, saying, “One day, your son and daughter will learn they are Charlie Kirk’s children and they will understand the significance of that.”
Charlie and Erika first crossed paths in September 2018 and got engaged in December 2020. They married in May 2021 and welcomed their daughter, Sarah Rose, in August 2022, followed by a son in May 2024, whose name remains undisclosed.
Charlie, a well-known and often controversial right-wing commentator and co-founder of Turning Point USA, was shot while addressing an audience at Utah Valley University on September 10. He was taken to the hospital but succumbed to his injuries. He was just 31.
“It is with deep sorrow that we, the leadership team of Turning Point USA, inform you that Charlie has gone to his eternal reward with Jesus Christ in Heaven,” the organization stated at the time.
Before his death, Charlie shared his reflections on fatherhood.
“Being a father is the greatest blessing, teaching and shaping you in ways you never imagine,” he wrote via Instagram in June, celebrating Father’s Day. “I pray for a resurgence of strong Christian fathers in this nation, who love God, their wives, and their children. Thank you, God, for my healthy kids and an incredible wife to share this journey with!”
In August, Charlie celebrated his daughter’s birthday by expressing gratitude for his family.
“Teaching her about God, alongside [Erika], is the greatest privilege I could ask for,” he shared in an Instagram post around that time. “Having a family transforms your life for the better, so marry young and start a family. You won’t regret it.”
As for Erika, she celebrated her marriage to Charlie in May, marking their anniversary with heartfelt words.
“Four sacred years together. My best friend, my warrior, my calm in every storm,” she wrote via Instagram. “We entered this marriage with open hearts, unaware of what lay ahead but grounded in our faith. We’ve laughed through joyful moments, cried through difficult times, and embraced the miracle of life twice.”
She concluded, “You embody the gospel—not just in words, but in your love, leadership, and service. Through you, I have learned the true essence of growth … as a wife, mother, and a woman on this journey with you. It’s us, always with God at the center. My gratitude is eternal. I am forever yours. Eternity awaits us [Charlie]; I love you dearly.”
