Fans Speculate Taylor Swift is Teasing Her 13th Album
Could Taylor Swift’s eagerly awaited 13th studio album be on the verge of release?
On Saturday, May 16, Swift, 36, and her fiancé Travis Kelce attended a friend’s wedding, and fans are buzzing with speculation that a new album may be imminent. Swift dazzled in a golden Maria Lucia Hohan gown, complemented by opal drop earrings, while Kelce, also 36, chose a Fear of God suit.
Astute fans quickly noted that Swift’s earrings featured 13 stones, which aligns perfectly with the number of her forthcoming album.
“There is just NO WAY she’s wearing an earring with 13 stones ????!!!!!” one X user exclaimed on Saturday night, suggesting it could be “fun teasing.”
Other fans speculated that the 13 stones might be a twist on the 12-stone ruby earrings Swift wore at the 2025 Grammy Awards, shortly before revealing her 12th album, The Life of a Showgirl. It could also simply reference Swift’s favorite number.
“TS13 easter eggs are going to be impossible [because] is it 13 because it’s Taylor Swift or because it’s TS13????” another fan tweeted.
However, some fans don’t believe Swift’s jewelry holds any clues regarding her music.
“Taylor attending a wedding, she’s not Easter egging while attending her fiancé’s friend’s wedding,” another Swiftie commented on X. “Use your brain.”
Swift has not yet commented on any plans for a 13th album, although she has consistently denied that her cryptic clues are related to her personal life.
“There are dos and don’ts. I’m never going to plan an Easter egg that ties back to my personal life,” the Grammy winner stated on Kelce’s “New Heights” podcast in August 2025, as she elaborated on the art of embedding Easter eggs. “It’s always going to be about music or something I have upcoming. A plan I have in motion. Something that you won’t know has a specific reason until later, and you’ll reflect and think, ‘Oh my god.’”
Swift, who became engaged to Kelce that month after two years of dating, released Showgirl the following October, featuring several love songs reflecting on their romance and future aspirations, including “Opalite,” centered around the man-made version of the NFL star’s birthstone.
“‘Opalite’ is a song where the title is something I wrote down because I thought it was beautiful,” Swift remarked during her Release Party of a Showgirl screening in October 2025. “I revisited it when [Max Martin, Shellback and I] were creating a really catchy track. Opalite is a man-made opal, so I’ve always adored opals, and my mom has loved them as well.”
She continued, “I loved the metaphor of a man-made opal, as it represents that you must create your own happiness in life. You have to navigate through tough times to arrive at a positive place.”
