How Gypsy Rose Blanchard Marked Daughter Aurora’s First Birthday
Gypsy Rose Blanchard is marking her first year as a mother, with a little help from Ms. Rachel.
“One year of our sweet Aurora,” Blanchard, 34, wrote in an Instagram post on Sunday, December 28. “Celebrating her FIRST birthday with a Ms. Rachel theme and so much love.”
Blanchard was beaming as she shared a bite of cake with her daughter, alongside her boyfriend Ken Urker. She also shared pictures of the birthday party decor, which included a Ms. Rachel banner and a cake featuring the popular YouTube star, known for her series “Songs for Littles.”
In keeping with the theme, Blanchard donned her best Ms. Rachel outfit, complete with a pink headband and shirt, mirroring the style of the internet sensation.
Blanchard welcomed Aurora with Urker a year after she was released from prison in December 2023. She had been incarcerated since 2016 for second-degree murder related to the death of her mother, Clauddine “Dee Dee” Blanchard.
Additionally, she showcased the “Ms. Rachel themed treats” served at the celebration.
“Tomorrow our baby turns ONE,” Blanchard captioned another photo on Saturday, December 27. “Celebrating Aurora’s first year with the sweetest treats for the sweetest girl.”
The array of treats featured pink, blue, and purple chocolate-covered pretzels, chocolate-covered Oreos, and what appeared to be cake pops. Many desserts were adorned with the number one to celebrate Aurora’s first birthday, alongside the ABCs.
Several cookies themed for the party featured some of Ms. Rachel’s signature phrases, including ones shaped like the number one, embellished with Aurora’s name in icing.
Since her debut in 2019, Ms. Rachel (real name Rachel Accurso) has garnered billions of views and millions of followers. She collaborates with her husband, Aron Accurso, who is a Broadway music director and composer. The couple has two children, son Thomas and daughter Susannah.
“My value lies in my ability to help children and discover innovative ways to assist them,” Ms. Rachel shared in a 2024 interview with Today. “That changed my life. It was incredibly transformative.”
This year, Ms. Rachel opened up about her swift rise to fame, discussing how much of her online persona reflects who she truly is.
“So much of it is genuinely me,” she revealed in an October 2025 interview with Glamour. “Initially, the outfit was just any color shirt with a headband, but I evolved into pink because I adore it. Overalls simply bring out my fun and childlike side. The headband was definitely a sign of a ‘busy mom, no time for a hair wash.’”
Ms. Rachel commended her “amazing team” in the same interview, explaining how they help distinguish her character from her real-life self.
“I sometimes think of Ms. Rachel as our entire team,” she explained. “That takes the pressure off having it rest solely on one person. When I see the cartoon version of myself, I don’t think, ‘There I am.’ I just feel like, ‘Oh, Ms. Rachel is all about love for children.’ Let’s embody love and inclusivity, ensuring ‘everyone’s welcome.’”
