In What Ways Is Jesse Tyler Ferguson Similar to Us?
Jesse Tyler Ferguson is relatable just like Us — he has an endearing, yet simple nickname for his partner!
“We both refer to each other using this term, which began with ‘Baby boy,’” Ferguson, 49, shares exclusively in the latest issue of Us Weekly, speaking about his spouse, Justin Mikita. “I say, ‘Hey, baby boy.’ Now, it’s evolved to ‘Bay-boy. Baboy.’”
The Modern Family star, who recently joined forces with Tovala, also shared his thoughts on his “favorite Housewife.” Although Ferguson admitted he’s “not really into Real Housewives,” he considers one former Real Housewives of New York City member a friend.
“I know Bethenny Frankel a bit, yes. I find her to be incredibly tough,” he explained. “Whatever she says, I often find myself thinking, ‘Yes, I agree with that.’”
Given Ferguson’s packed schedule, it’s no wonder he often misses episodes of RHONY and other Bravo shows. In fact, his time constraints prompted him to start utilizing Tovala’s Smart Oven for faster meals for their sons, Beckett, 4, and Sullivan, 2.
When he manages to set aside a little time for himself, Ferguson engages in activities that are certainly relatable.
Scroll down to discover how Ferguson mirrors Us:
Us: When did you last do laundry?
Ferguson: My older son is still in the process of potty training, so I do laundry every day.
Us: What was the last thing you queued for?
Ferguson: A smoothie at Erewhon.
Us: What’s a bad habit you’re trying to eliminate?
Ferguson: Nail biting. It’s a tough one. I do well, and then I slip back.
Us: Which song do you love to sing in the shower?
Ferguson: The Sunset Boulevard soundtrack. I’ve been playing it a lot because of the new production with Nicole Scherzinger. It’s fantastic!
What’s a task you keep delaying?
There’s an Amazon return that’s been sitting on my dining table for more than a week. Also, a bag from New York that remains unpacked for over a month.
Us: What trend do you wish would fade away?
Ferguson: I’m somewhat tired of viral TikTok videos. Everyone seems to do the same thing. There’s a lack of originality and creativity.
Us: What do you enjoy eating when no one is watching?
Ferguson: I indulge in desserts secretly. Tovala has a molten lava cake that I can pop in the oven. It’s ready in just 13 minutes — absolutely delicious and fresher than anything else I’d have to wait for.
Us: Who was the last celebrity you asked for a selfie with?
Ferguson: Carol Burnett. A classic.
