Ingrid Michaelson Celebrates Taylor Swift’s Wedding with Adorable Cat Video
Ingrid Michaelson marked the wedding day of her friends Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce in a unique way that featured a furry friend.
On Friday, July 3, the 46-year-old “Girls Chase Boys” artist posted a nostalgic video from one of Swift’s iconic July 4th weekend gatherings, where she interacted with one of Swift’s cats.
It’s uncertain if the kitty is Olivia Benson or Meredith Grey, since both have white paws, but one of them seems eager to swipe a piece of red fabric from Michaelson in the clip.
“One July 3rd many years ago I was playing with Taylor Swift’s cat,” Michaelson noted over the charming video.
She added, “Happy wedding day to t&t.”
Michaelson didn’t specify when the clip was filmed, but she attended a star-studded July 4 weekend party at Swift’s “Holiday House” mansion in Rhode Island back in 2014, along with Lena Dunham, Jaime King, Emma Stone, and Jessica Szohr.
The two have shared the stage multiple times throughout their careers. In a 2025 TikTok video, Michaelson remembered a rather awkward encounter with Swift, 36, at the 2019 MTV Video Music Awards.
“I was on the red carpet, feeling great… Then suddenly, they started ushering me off [the carpet]… and I realized Taylor Swift was approaching. I looked to my right, and there she was,” she reminisced.
Michaelson took the opportunity to approach Swift amidst the media chaos, convincing herself that they had “hung out a couple of times.”

“So I went between the panels, literally running after this woman,” she recounted. “And I go, ‘Taylor! Taylor!’ but of course, she didn’t turn around, because why would she respond to a random woman yelling her name?”
Feeling a bit “pathetic,” she eventually called out, “Taylor, it’s Ingrid,” to catch her attention.
“She turned around and recognized me,” Michaelson said, delighted. “We took a picture.”
Swift and Kelce, 36, are set to wed at Madison Square Garden in New York City on Friday. According to a source, their wedding will be a “whimsical” ceremony inspired by the fairytales that have influenced Swift over the years.
Approximately 1,000 guests are anticipated to attend the wedding, while a more intimate group of 100 joined the rehearsal dinner at MSG on Thursday, July 2. (Notable attendees included Dunham, 40, Selena Gomez, Bradley Cooper and his girlfriend Gigi Hadid, as well as George Kittle and his wife Claire Kittle.)
Swift and Kelce began their romantic relationship in 2023. In August 2025, the Kansas City Chiefs player proposed shortly after welcoming Swift onto his “New Heights” podcast.
