Jennifer Lopez Brings Back the Ultra Low-Rise Jeans Trend
Jennifer Lopez is reviving her beloved low-rise jeans.
The 55-year-old star showcased an impressive retro style while donning a pair of ultra low-rise denim jeans at a recent Unstoppable screening. She complemented her light-wash jeans with a chic baby blue blazer that featured a darker velvet lining. To add a touch of flair to her ensemble, she wore a completely sheer blouse with a relaxed necktie.
Lopez completed her all-blue look with rosy suede peep-toe heels and sparkling diamond rings.
To match her stunning footwear, Lopez opted for soft pink eyeshadow, elongated lashes, and peachy lip color. Her bronde locks were styled in a messy updo, parted down the center.
Lopez, alongside early 2000s fashion icons such as Paris Hilton and Christina Aguilera, embodied the low-rise jean movement during that era.
In 2001, she famously displayed her toned midriff in lace-up denim while attending an event at the Ramstein Air Base in Germany. Her ultra-low jeans featured a flared cut adorned with assorted denim patches and a lace-up design in lieu of traditional buttons. Paired with her daring jeans, Lopez wore a fitted black turtleneck and a stylish fur vest.
Hilton, 43, and Aguilera, 44, were also prominent supporters of the low-rise trend back in the day, frequently rocking styles that left little to the imagination.
One of Hilton’s standout outfits was from 2002, where she turned heads in a pink halter top at the Ivar Nightclub Grand Opening Party. Her jeans sat so low that they nearly exposed her hips, and she added a touch of flair with a hot pink belt around her upper thighs.
Aguilera also made a splash in patchwork jeans at the 2001 MTV Video Music Awards, pairing them with a lace-trimmed crop top, a gold chain belt, and a sideways patchwork denim cap, truly embodying the Y2K aesthetic.
