Julie Chrisley Hints at New Cooking Show Set to Begin Filming in 2026
Julie Chrisley has an exciting new television venture on the horizon.
During the December 17 episode of their “Chrisley Confessions” podcast, Julie, 52, informed her husband Todd Chrisley that she plans to begin filming for her upcoming cooking show in February 2026.
“I might even start filming in the next few days,” Julie playfully hinted, noting that the content will eventually be available on YouTube. “This is my project; it’s not yours.”
Todd, 56, even offered to take on the role of producer for the new show.
“I haven’t heard about this, and I haven’t agreed to it,” Julie jokingly remarked. “I don’t need your help to produce me… I wasn’t even aware you were taking on that role.”
Despite their disagreement over Todd’s potential involvement, Julie has been diligently working on the style of her cooking show.
“I’ve been closely examining feedback from social media, and a lot of people want you to recreate the meals you made at summer camp,” Todd suggested, referencing Julie’s time in prison. “I think you should do that.”
Both Todd and Julie were sentenced for fraud in 2022, serving two years in federal prison, before receiving a pardon from President Donald Trump. (The couple has consistently proclaimed their innocence.)
“I will include some of those prison recipes in the show,” Julie shared about recreating her meals from that time. “We have access to everything and real methods for cooking. I want it to be authentic, showcasing dishes that anyone can prepare.”
She continued, “I don’t want exotic ingredients that require a treasure hunt to find. Most of the items should be simple and available in any kitchen.”
Julie expressed her intent to explore themes like weekly meal ideas and special occasion recipes.
“I think that’s fantastic. I hope you find a producer who’ll support all your ideas,” Todd playfully remarked. “I’ve heard that getting cozy with your producer can help.”
However, Julie joked that trading favors for a role would only land her “in the tabloids.”
“You don’t need another court case,” she joked, referencing their legal troubles.
Previously, Julie hosted a “What’s Cooking” series in 2019, during which she showcased family recipes over ten episodes, focusing on their holiday traditions.
“We follow traditional recipes, so we always have turkey. My homemade cornbread dressing is a family favorite, something we enjoy every Thanksgiving,” Julie shared with Mashed during a 2021 interview. “I also make sweet potato soufflé. Everyone loves my mac and cheese; it’s all very Southern and carb-heavy.”
Julie and Todd mentioned that she takes charge of “99 percent” of the cooking in their home.
“For me, planning ahead is key—especially this season. I make sure to buy early, organizing everything in a designated spot where it’s easy to find. I also plan to prep early for any dishes that can be made in advance.”
