Olivia Wilde Responds to Allegations of Looking Like a “Dead Body”

Olivia Wilde playfully addressed a recent viral red carpet appearance that left fans worried about her looks.

During the Wednesday, June 17 episode of Alex Cooper’s “Call Her Daddy” podcast, Wilde, 42, joked about her look at the San Francisco International Film Festival in April, stating she resembled a “dead body.”

When Cooper, 31, mentioned the photo, Wilde burst into laughter, exclaiming, “I’m so thrilled you’re talking about this,” while clapping her hands.

“Jump scare! I looked like an actual dead body,” she quipped about her appearance, which featured smoky brown eyeshadow, black eyeliner, bronzed cheeks, and nude lips. “It was completely wild.”

Wilde remarked that she never anticipated the photo going viral since it was taken at a “small regional film festival.”

“It’s just a tiny little red carpet. We did our thing, and then I saw that picture, thinking, ‘That won’t go far. No one will notice this.’ Oops! Suddenly, it was everywhere,” she shared, comparing the experience to friends sharing an unflattering photo of you. “I laughed so hard,” she added.

“We had to find humor in it!” she continued. “People were diagnosing me with Graves’ disease. [Journalist] Megyn Kelly even dedicated an entire segment on how I looked like I was dead.”

Wilde mentioned that her brother also commented on how she looked “dead,” even doing a real “spit take” upon seeing the photo. She found his reaction so hilarious that she posted a video of herself laughing on Instagram in May.

“Olivia Wilde, do you care to respond to recent rumors that you’re a resurrected corpse?” her brother, Charles Cockburn, asked her. She replied, “Listen, that’s a fisheye lens. And yes, is that my best angle? Was that my best look? No, it’s a shocking image.”

She added, “I don’t know why I was so close to the camera. I didn’t need to be. That’s not the truth. I’m not dead!”

“Only your little brother would give you the maximum amount of grief,” she captioned the post.
