Pregnant Natalie Portman Eagerly Anticipates Arrival of Her Third Child
Natalie Portman is expressing her joy over her pregnancy and excitedly looking forward to welcoming her third child.
“Counting the days until we meet you,” Portman, 45, shared via Instagram on Wednesday, July 29, posting a new maternity photo. “Thank you [photographer] @shelbyduncan for your amazing work.”
In the beautiful photo, Portman lovingly cradled her baby bump on the balcony of a Parisian apartment. She wore only an oversized unbuttoned striped blouse and gazed adoringly at her growing belly.
Many of Portman’s celebrity friends expressed their happiness about the Oscar winner’s soon-to-arrive baby with partner Tanguy Destable in the comments section.
“Beautiful ❤️❤️❤️,” Julianne Moore commented on Wednesday, while chef Amy Chaplin added, “So thrilled for you, Natalie. Huge congratulations.”
Makeup artist Jeanine Lobell replied, “Can’t wait, love you, nicknat 😘.”
Portman announced her pregnancy in April and revealed it is her first child with Destable, 46. (Both Portman and the French musician, known as Tepr, have two children from prior marriages.)
“Tanguy and I are incredibly excited,” the Black Swan star expressed to Harper’s Bazaar at the time. “I’m just so grateful. I understand it’s a privilege and a miracle. I grew up hearing how challenging it can be to conceive.”
She continued, “I have so many loved ones who’ve faced significant struggles with this, so I want to be respectful about it. It’s a beautiful, joyous experience, but also not an easy one. I’m very aware of how fortunate I am and feel immense gratitude.”
Portman and Destable were introduced by mutual friends after she moved to France with her children, Aleph, 15, and Amalia, 9, following her divorce from ex-husband Benjamin Millepied.
“I find the people here incredibly friendly — you just need to know how to engage with them so we aren’t perceived as rude,” Portman told Net-a-Porter in May 2025 about her transition from Hollywood to Paris. “Now, when I return to the U.S., I think, ‘Oh,’ I could go into a store without greeting everyone? It feels strange. There’s a misconception that all western cultures are alike, influenced by popular culture, but it’s not true: the nuances are quite distinct here.”
She remarked at the time, “They excel at maintaining privacy here. I feel flattered when someone says ‘elle est très discrète’ [‘she is very discreet’].”
