Rachel Recchia Opens Up About Her Breast Reduction Scars Years Later
Former Bachelorette Rachel Recchia is opening up about her breast reduction journey nearly two years after having a secondary procedure.
“Let’s talk about my girls a little,” Recchia shared on Saturday, June 6, in a TikTok. “I’m currently in Africa. I missed many comments on my last video, so I’ll try to address as many as I can before I leave. Initially, I started out at a size that was over a triple D, but they lacked volume on top and were quite low.”
Recchia mentioned that she funded the procedure herself due to the “many hoops” she had to jump through with her insurance company.
“They require you to take prescription-strength Tylenol and go through physical therapy, and I was like, ‘I really don’t have the time.’ So cost-wise, it varies. I had it done in Beverly Hills, so it was on the pricier side,” she explained. “But honestly, it was so worth it.”
Recchia noted that she has an “anchor scar” and underwent “bilateral lipo,” which she described as removing everything from the armpit and side areas.
“For the most part, I was down for about two weeks. After that, I felt great. One suggestion I have is to put silicone scar tape over the cuts as soon as my bandages were off,” she advised, mentioning that she noticed as soon as they started healing and dropping that they were “larger” than she preferred.

Continuing, she said, “When I went in for my check-up, I mentioned to him that I would love to have more removed. He informed me that I could still get another reduction if I wanted. The second time around was significantly easier; my recovery was maybe just a week. I felt groggy for the first couple of days, but then I was taped up and ready to go.”
When answering a question about her scar, Recchia pulled down her white tank top to reveal a faded line beneath her armpit. “My scars are literally white,” she remarked. “You can barely see them.”
Recchia explained that her new size “[fits] her body” perfectly, adding that it’s “really cute” and she is now a B cup.
“This August will mark two years since my second reduction. I’m now able to work out without experiencing back pain,” she said. “People always advised me to wait as long as possible to have it done, telling me, ‘When you have kids, you’ll need it redone.’ But right now, I’m not married and far from having kids, so I wanted to do it ASAP.”
She added, “If I have a child and they grow back, like they did a little the second time, I’d do it again. I’d literally go through it five more times to ensure this stays for the rest of my life.”
