Star Antonia Gentry Offers a Sneak Peek at What’s Coming Next
The third season of “Ginny & Georgia” is officially in the works. Antonia Gentry, who plays Ginny Miller, shared with TODAY.com what fans can look forward to.
“If it was even feasible — and it obviously was — it’s even more intense,” she comments. “This season features even more plot twists and significantly heightened drama.”
With elements like murder, embezzlement, and romantic entanglements already woven into the fabric of previous seasons, fans can only speculate about what awaits them in the upcoming season.
While Gentry refrained from revealing specific storylines, she teased viewers with three words: “Surprising, heart-wrenching, and exciting,” she notes.
Gentry is eager to see how audiences respond to the new season.
“I’m absolutely thrilled for everyone to tune in and share their thoughts,” she expresses.
When is Season 3 of ‘Ginny & Georgia’ set to premiere?
Seasons 3 and 4 of “Ginny and Georgia” were both confirmed in May 2023. Due to the actors’ and writers’ strikes in 2023, filming did not commence until March 2024.
In mid-September, several cast members celebrated the conclusion of filming for Season 3 on Instagram.
Felix Mallard, who portrays Marcus Baker, shared behind–the–scenes photos and videos on Sept. 19, mentioning that “Season 3 of Ginny and Georgia just wrapped shooting.”
“It’s a mix of bitterness and sweetness,” he added. “It’s pride wrapped in worry. I’m incredibly thankful to have spent so much time working hard alongside such wonderful people.”
Howey also took to Instagram, mentioning that Season 3 “feels a bit different.”
Co-stars Sara Waisglass (Max Baker) and Mason Temple (Hunter Chen) also shared their tributes on Instagram.
In April, Gentry uploaded photos with Diesel La Torraca (Austin Miller), showcasing his growth over the years as her on-screen half-brother.
While there is no official release date for Season 3 yet, one can infer a potential timeline based on past production and release patterns.
Season 1 appeared to wrap filming by December 2019, as the show’s creator and writer Sarah Lampert celebrated the cast on Instagram. The first season debuted on Netflix over a year later, in February 2021. Subsequently, Season 2 concluded shooting in April 2022, according to Lampert’s end-of-filming tribute for season two.
In 2022, Howey elaborated to E! News about the delays in Season 2, explaining that translation into 180 different languages is required before release.
“This process takes about four months,” she revealed.
Netflix has yet to announce an official release date for season three.
What happened at the end of Season 2?
Ginny and Marcus ended their relationship not due to a lack of love, but because Marcus faced a bout of depression. Nonetheless, they agreed to remain friends, setting up Season 3 to explore if and how their relationship will rekindle.
Meanwhile, Georgia confided in her fiancé, Paul Randolph (Scott Porter), about almost all her dark secrets — except for the murders she committed. She disclosed that she framed Gil, Austin’s father, for fraud and shared the blackmail threats posed by Gil. Instead of breaking up, the two surprised everyone with a wedding.
That said, their first dance was interrupted by police arriving to arrest Georgia for Tom Fuller’s murder. Georgia had killed her friend Cynthia’s husband out of mercy after hearing Cynthia reveal the difficulties of his prolonged suffering.
Who will look after Ginny and Austin? What fate awaits Georgia following her arrest? How will she navigate this situation?
Season 3 appears poised to tackle these pressing questions. However, with this popular series, the unexpected is always a possibility, and as Gentry aptly puts it, there are “even more plot twists” on the horizon.
