Susan Lucci, 78, Impresses Fans with Daring New Look in ‘Final’ Stage Appearance

At 78, Susan Lucci embraces the opportunity to experiment with her style, showcasing a daring new look this week through a behind-the-scenes photo from her off-Broadway play.

“Preparing for my last My First Ex-Husband performance!!! This show is amazing!!!” she captioned the Instagram post that featured her hair in rollers and vibrant blue and purple eye makeup gracing her eyelids.

The eye makeup highlighted her features beautifully and was complemented by a pink lipstick shade.

My First Ex-Husband is described as “a bold and heartfelt adaptation of real-life stories from the iconic Joy Behar, comedienne and co-host of The View.”

Susan appeared in the production for four weeks during February and March; the play employs a rotating cast of stars who contribute their unique personalities to relate these tales that may resonate with many.

Susan rose to fame through All My Children, and her transition to the stage marked her noteworthy appearance on morning television, where she showcased her soap opera acting skills on Good Morning America.

Susan Lucci throws water on Michael Strahan on GMA

“Last time you were here, you really put those acting chops to work. You taught me how to do the classic fake TV slap,” Michael Strahan remarked to Susan. “So how do you elevate a soap opera fight?”

“It’s crucial to not just have a fight out of nowhere; you need to be genuinely angry in that moment,” Susan explained.

The duo then engaged in a mock fight, tossing lines like, “I’ve done nothing wrong!” and “Don’t interrupt me!” in the studio, culminating in Susan dumping a glass of water on the four-time dad.

“It’s fun, it’s comedic, it’s a blast,” Susan said about My First Ex-Husband. “I enjoy performing comedy; [the audience is] right there, and I believe they’re going to love the show.”

“Performing live presents its own thrill and interaction. The audience becomes involved, and it’s fantastic,” Susan shared with People previously.

“Especially in comedy—indeed, anytime—the audience’s engagement is wonderful. You’re all in it together. The audience is there to laugh, and you’re there to find the humor. It’s exhilarating to receive their reactions.”
