Travis Kelce and Patrick Mahomes Sample Dishes at Their New Steakhouse
1587 Prime, the upcoming steakhouse owned by Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce, is set to debut in Kansas City later this year. The two Chiefs stars recently had the opportunity to sample the menu.
Mahomes, 29, and Kelce, 35, visited the restaurant, which shared a video documenting their experience on Instagram on Tuesday, July 29.
“We invited our friends, @patrickmahomes and @killatrav, for a first taste of the 1587 Prime menu,” read the caption. “Here’s how it went…”
The video showcased the two Super Bowl champions enjoying a variety of dishes. While not every item was identified, the server seemed to frequently mention the word “butter.”
The video also provided a glimpse of the menu items. The visible listings included tajima wagyu beef, a chop salad with beef salami and chickpeas, togarashi fried chicken with wasabi honey and green onion, shrimp diablo, the 33 burger, and a steak flight.
“I just want to try them all,” Kelce remarked.
“From the first bite, I could tell that was going to be a ‘yeah,’” Mahomes chimed in.
“Man, that food was even better than I imagined! KC, get ready baby!!” Kelce commented on the post, while Mahomes added, “Coming soon..!! ⏰”
Mahomes and Kelce initially announced their collaboration with the hospitality group Noble 33 to open the restaurant in March 2024. The name 1587 Prime combines both of their jersey numbers, and the steakhouse is set to feature additional references to the duo’s football achievements. During the announcement, the owners pledged that the 10,000-square-foot, two-floor establishment in the Loews Kansas City hotel would be the “ultimate experiential dining destination.”
“We’re thrilled to embark on this journey with Noble 33 to create a unique dining experience, and what better place to do this than our own Kansas City,” Kelce stated.
“Travis and I have frequently visited Noble 33 restaurants in other cities, so bringing something special to our community in Kansas City made perfect sense,” Mahomes remarked.
Originally, 1587 Prime was slated to open in early 2025, but as of July 30, no official grand opening date has been provided. Kelce seemed to hint at a date during a June episode of his “New Heights” podcast, co-hosted with his brother Jason Kelce.
“You already know, baby. Opening up … soon,” he stated, almost catching himself.
