Famous Mothers Over 40: Alanis Morissette, Janet Jackson, and More
While many celebrities choose to start families early, these stars opted to have children later in life.
Alanis Morissette, for instance, revealed in March 2019 that she was expecting her third child at the age of 44. The singer of “Ironic,” who married rapper Mario “Souleye” Treadway in 2010, shared a photo of her baby bump on social media with the caption, “So much NEWness.”
Morissette and Treadway welcomed their son, Ever, in 2010, while their daughter, Onyx, arrived in 2016 when the singer-songwriter was 41. Morrisette later gave birth to son Winter in August 2019.
She’s not the only celebrity to embrace motherhood later in life. Brigitte Nielsen was 54 when she announced in May 2018 that she and her husband, Mattia Dessi, were expecting their fifth child.
The Playboy model talked about the IVF process with Page Six after the birth of her daughter, Frida. “I was always like, ‘I want to do it until there are no more embryos left,’” she shared. “Somebody has to win the lottery.”
Other celebrity mothers who gave birth after turning 40 include Alyssa Milano, Janet Jackson, and Christie Brinkley. Scroll down to see more:
