Jennifer Aniston’s Thoughts on Motherhood and Pregnancy Speculation
Before discussing her struggles with infertility, Jennifer Aniston has been open about her aspirations to become a mother — and the reasons behind her relaxed approach to the process.
Over the course of her career, Aniston has frequently made headlines due to her notable relationships. She wed Brad Pitt in 2000, but the couple eventually separated after five years of marriage.
After her relationship with Justin Theroux, the Friends star challenged societal expectations regarding how she should navigate her life. “We’re viewing women through a very limited lens,” she remarked during a December 2016 interview with Lorraine Kelly on ITV. “If we don’t have a child, a white picket fence, or a partner, then we’re rendered worthless. We aren’t fulfilling our true purpose.”
After her separation from Theroux in 2017, Aniston opened up about her previous attempts to become a mother for the first time.
“All the years and years and years of speculation… It was incredibly challenging,” she shared in an interview with Allure, published in November 2022. “I was undergoing IVF, drinking Chinese herbal teas, you name it. I was trying everything. I would have done anything if someone had suggested to me, ‘Freeze your eggs. Do yourself a favor.’ It’s just not something you think of. So here I am today. That chapter has closed.”
