Natalie Alyn Lind from Dutton Ranch Hints at a Turbulent Season with Unexpected Twists
Yellowstone enthusiasts can look forward to unexpected twists when it comes to Rip and Beth’s Dutton Ranch spinoff.
Natalie Alyn Lind spoke exclusively to Us Weekly about what viewers can anticipate, stating, “What drew me to the original Yellowstone was the family dynamics. Family relationships can be incredibly complex since your family can hurt you more than anyone else.”
Lind, who portrays Oreana, hinted at what lies ahead.
“Both families will fight for one another, and witnessing the blend of these two families get together… it becomes chaotic,” she revealed. “It becomes really chaotic. In the most delightful way. It’s so intriguing. I can’t wait.”
Yellowstone, which first aired in 2018, brought audiences into the world of the fictional Dutton family. The Paramount Network series concluded in 2024, further expanding its universe with Luke Grimes‘ Marshals and Dutton Ranch, which premiered in May.
“As Beth and Rip strive to create a future together — away from the shadows of Yellowstone — they encounter harsh new realities and a cutthroat rival ranch that will do anything to defend its empire,” reads the show’s synopsis. “In South Texas, blood runs deeper, forgiveness is transient, and the price of survival might just be your soul.”
Dutton Ranch will introduce new characters, played by Annette Bening and Ed Harris. Other fresh faces include Jai Courtney, Lind, Marc Menchaca, Juan Pablo Raba, and J. R. Villarreal.
“My character evolves in a way that I won’t specify, but she begins the season and finishes it a completely transformed person,” Lind divulged to Us. “Significant events occur that change her life forever.”
Dutton Ranch broadens Rip and Beth’s horizons as they encounter a variety of new characters — including the influential Jackson family, headed by matriarch Beulah (Bening), who oversees the 10 Petal Ranch. She manages her prosperous business alongside her sons Joaquin (Raba), the family’s fixer, and Rob-Will (Courtney), the impulsive member who triggers events in the pilot episode.
Rob-Will has a daughter — Beulah’s granddaughter — Oreana (Lind), who is set to inherit the ranch but instead rebels against expectations… and discovers love with Carter.
“Everyone is so familiar with the Duttons, and there’s a rich history. For the Jacksons entering this new series, we aimed to create a family with deep roots so that, as viewers learn more about them, it feels real,” Lind shared with Us.
Dutton Ranch airs on Fridays on Paramount+.
