Sterling K. Brown Playfully Suggests Thomas Doherty Will Find Love After Paradise Season 2
Sterling K. Brown is optimistic about Thomas Doherty‘s romantic prospects now that Paradise is back for its second season.
“Speaking for the young ladies, yes, he is single right now, but he probably won’t be by the end of the show,” Brown, 49, joked during an exclusive piece with Us Weekly from his interview on Monday, February 23, with Good Morning America coanchor George Stephanopoulos.
The actor praised Doherty for his role as Link in season 2, stating, “Shailene [Woodley] is not only an outstanding actor but also a close friend. What she brings to the show this year is phenomenal — just like Thomas.”
Paradise, which debuted in January 2025, initially centered around a calm and wealthy community grappling with the aftermath of a shocking murder. However, This Is Us creator Dan Fogelman introduced a twist by revealing that Paradise is actually an underground bunker sheltering the world’s elite after an apocalyptic event devastated humanity.
The cast discussed with Us how they managed to keep the show’s secrets before its premiere.
“The greatest lengths [we had to take to maintain the secret twist] are happening now as we’re actually speaking about it,” Julianne Nicholson remarked at the time. “While we were on set, everyone knew what was happening, so secrecy wasn’t as crucial.”
She added: “Now the challenge is how to catch people’s attention and assure them that this is something unique without revealing any details. But we’re incredibly excited for audiences to join us on this journey.”
The first season concluded with the revelation of who killed James Marsden‘s character Cal, following a tense investigation that resulted in multiple onscreen deaths. The biggest twist, however, was Xavier (Brown) leaving the bunker to discover who had survived the apocalypse and was still living outside.
As the show prepares for its return on Monday, Sarah Shahi assures Paradise fans that more surprises are in store.
“It is a roller-coaster ride. [Creator Dan Fogelman] has a knack for keeping the audience on their toes,” she shared with Us back in January. “Just when you think you have a grip on the storyline, [something unexpected happens], and you’re left thinking, ‘Wow, I didn’t see that coming at all.’”
Alongside Brown, Nicholson, and Shahi, the cast also features Nicole Brydon Bloom, Aliyah Mastin, Percy Daggs IV, Jon Beavers, Krys Marshall, Gerald McRaney, and Enuka Okuma.
Paradise premieres on February 23 on Hulu, with new episodes airing every Monday. More from Brown’s discussion with Stephanopoulos will be featured on Good Morning America at 7 a.m. ET on Monday.
