The Valley’s Danny Booko Offers Apology and Cancels WWHL Appearance
Danny Booko has decided to cancel his appearance on Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen following a public apology regarding his conduct on The Valley.
“To the person I cherish most, my wonderful wife [Nia Sanchez Booko], I am truly sorry,” Danny, 42, expressed on Instagram on Wednesday, May 20. “Revisiting the last few episodes has been quite challenging.”
The couple faced challenges in recent Valley episodes due to a drag competition, with Danny feeling that Nia, 36, wasn’t putting in enough time for his preparation. Their clash during Wednesday’s episode was intense, breaking the fourth wall as they noted that they were still mic’d up.
“This has been a tough season in my life, showcasing a side of me I’m not proud of,” Danny added. “A short temper, stress, alcohol, and lack of sleep is never a good mix, but that’s no excuse. I should never have directed my frustrations towards [Nia].”
Danny acknowledged that balancing parenting and filming The Valley created a tense atmosphere for his family.
“I love, honor, and deeply respect you, and I failed to demonstrate that in some moments,” he wrote to Nia. “Nia, my love for you is immense. I am thankful for you, our family, and the beautiful, chaotic life we’ve built together. I thank God for you every day.”
Danny issued his public apology just hours prior to his scheduled interview with Luke Broderick on Watch What Happens Live. Host Andy Cohen confirmed during the show that Danny opted out of the interview but mentioned that it wasn’t due to the negative feedback from recent episodes. (Danny was replaced by co-star Tom Schwartz on WWHL.)
“[Danny] had a job booking and needed to cancel to work,” Cohen, 57, explained. “I trust he’s being honest because if he had canceled due to fear of coming here, our publicist would have heard about it.”
Cohen added, “Listen, he’s coming to the reunion, so he’ll face it all!”
The Valley viewers received further clarity on Danny and Nia’s disputes during the latest After Show episode. Danny asserted that his argument with Nia was not related to the arrival of their fourth child, daughter Adelaide, last summer.
“This is baby number four,” Danny stated on Wednesday’s After Show. “Do you really think I haven’t navigated this three other times? I absolutely know how to support my wife.”
Meanwhile, Nia mentioned that the fiery exchange wasn’t reflective of their typical communication style in their marriage.
“With Daniel and me, yes, we have our tense moments; yes, we can be short with each other,” Nia stated. “Sometimes we find ourselves in a wonderful phase where everything is great, and other times it’s more challenging. What viewers will witness during this timeframe is that we had many tense interactions and were often on edge.”
She continued, “That doesn’t indicate a bad relationship. It simply means we encountered tough patches. We are committed to working through it because we plan to last. We’ve been together for a significant time, and we recognize that these moments don’t define our entire relationship.”
The Valley airs on Bravo Wednesdays at 8 p.m. ET.
