Meredith Duxbury Clarifies Whether She Actually Used 10 Pumps of Foundation
Influencer Meredith Duxbury is finally addressing her not-so-clean makeup routine.
On Thursday, January 16, Duxbury, 25, took to TikTok to clarify that she did not actually apply the excessive amount of foundation that made her go viral. “With TikTok possibly facing a ban, there’s a secret I need to disclose,” the beauty expert captioned her video. “I did wipe off some of those 10 pumps.”
Fans voiced their reactions in the comments, expressing relief at finally knowing the truth. “Reveal of the century,” one user stated. Another remarked, “I needed this closure, thank you.” A third, who had believed Duxbury’s method, commented, “NOOOOO YOU CAN’T DO THIS TO ME RN I BELIEVED YOU😭😭.”
Duxbury exploded in popularity back in 2023 by dramatically layering on an astonishing 10 pumps of foundation before adding concealer, bronzer, blush, and more. While other beauty influencers leaned toward a “clean girl” aesthetic featuring light foundation, radiant skin, and subtle features, Duxbury gained attention for her bold glam look.
In April 2023, she posted a TikTok providing insight into her use of foundation and assuring fans that she truly applied all 10 pumps, despite skepticism about her technique.
“I do not remove all the foundation and reapply my makeup. I use my hands to blend it in to minimize waste,” she explained, adding that brushes and sponges absorb some of the product. “Many assume I do my foundation like this for views, which is false.”
Earlier this month, Duxbury reiterated her assertion that her use of foundation was sincere, stating on TikTok, “When everyone claims my 10 pumps of foundation were just for views … it was real, believe it or not.”
Since her viral fame, Duxbury has dialed back her foundation usage and now opts for a more natural complexion.
